Hello everybody! It’s been a busy week! We’ve gotten to chance to have a few lessons and our friends are progressing! We almost had to drop a couple we were teaching but when we went over for our next lesson, one was currently reading the Book of Mormon and wanted to improve. We are really excited to see this progression and continue to help them feel the Spirit! It’s also been a bit of a weird week. It’s been a bit difficult to balance things in general, like working hard but not pushing so hard that I can’t emotionally handle much. I’m trying to work hard and be diligent in my efforts. It’s not always as easy. Some things really are! And I’m getting more comfortable with things I never thought I would be. I still have much to learn, and I’m working on my teaching skills so I can feel more confident when I teach.

This past week we’ve had some amazing experiences with the Spirit. We had a devotional where President Gentile talked about how we always have the Spirit with us because it’s companionship is promised to us when we are baptized.

He gave a really cool analogy about visits you have with friends. First, you prepare for a visit from a friend; You clean, cook, decorate, and do whatever it is you need to do to make your home welcoming to your guest. Second, you have the friend over; You play games, you eat, you talk, and overall have fun. Third, the friend leaves and you make plans to have them over again.

President Gentile explained that this is a great system we follow with friends and family in our lives, but it is not something we should do to the Holy Ghost. We are promised consistent companionship of the Spirit when we are baptized (so long as we are keeping our covenants) and sometimes we treat the Holy Ghost like a friend we must prepare and make changes to receive. We must always be striving to have the constant guidance of the Spirit. We aren’t expected to be perfect of course, but striving and having a true desire to repent and have a change of heart when we make mistakes.

We must learn to, rather than prepare to receive the Holy Ghost, to learn to recognize the Holy Ghost so we can be directed in all things. I love what was mentioned in this devotional when we talked:

6 And I was led by the Spirit, not knowing beforehand the things which I should do.

1 Nephi 4:6

Nephi didn’t wait to be led by the Spirit, but moved and acted, with the Spirit as his companion. If we wait for the Spirit to give us a big revelation to guide us, then we might be waiting a while. We must act first and recognize the Spirit so we may be guided in all we do.

This is something I would like to work on myself, and I hope this all made sense to you guys. I know that if we keep our covenants we make, we will be blessed in more ways than we are expecting. Just look for the blessings. ๐Ÿ˜‰

That’s my spiritual rant for the week!

Haha. Now for the story of the week. So long story short, my companion and I got really slap-happy a couple nights ago and we started to gurgle water laying down, screaming as you would into a pillow…can you see where this is going? ๐Ÿ˜† So at one point, my companion sits up quickly and sprays the entire room with water! The funniest thing was that it went through her nose too and got over EVERYTHING ๐Ÿคฃ. She had also just told me as a joke that if I wet the bed, she’d never let it down lol. We couldn’t breathe for a bit hahaha.

Anyway, not super exciting, but it was definitely fun! Thank you again to everyone who has been sending me letters! It makes my week every time I receive something in the mail!

Also, before I forget, this last Saturday was transfer calls! I get to stay with my companion another transfer at least and I’ve completed my first transfer (which I have just learned is 6 weeks)! I occasionally get the chance to see all of the wonderful comments you guys leave on my posts, and soon I should be able to respond!

Shout out to my “twin!” He’s turning 20 this week and I’m so excited for him! Haha. No longer technically a teenager lol. ๐Ÿ˜† Love you Dipper! Happy early birthday! ๐ŸŽ‚
