Good morning everyone! Do you believe it’s already December?! Or has it been a long time coming? I for one, can’t believe it’s already December. It means tomorrow I’ll have been in Michigan for 8 months! Just in case anyone gets a little confused with everything I do as far as keeping track of my months, I keep track of two separate calendars. How long I have been a set apart missionary and how long I have been in Michigan. Because of the MTC, they are roughly a month apart. I need to stop taking about that haha. 😅One of the things I’ve enjoyed most this week has been #LightTheWorld (or #LightTheWorldWithLove or #LightTheMitten – for anyone in Michigan) Side note: I have never seen a state more excited to live where they do. People from here have been here for years. Most of our ward is made up of two families if that gives you a better idea of just how long people stay here. Anyway… I have loved Light The World. I’m not the best at following prompts every day, but I’m working on it. I want my Christmas to be focused on Christ, and I feel like Light The World is the perfect way to do that. I’ll be praying on my story every day what the prompt is in case anyone wants to follow along. 😉
Other than that, we are having a blast with our friends that we are teaching and the new friends we made this week. The friends we’ve been teaching are making so much progress and I can see the light shining brighter in them. There’s nothing cooler than to see the light the fullness of the gospel brings to people lives. There’s really no other motivation for it. I don’t get paid. I don’t get special recognition in the church. We don’t get anything when we have new members except for joy in seeing them so happy and knowing it will last. We don’t get a commission for every person we teach or bring to the waters of baptism. And I love it! The only motivation this work has is love for God and love for His children, in that order.
I have never been happier than I have been, studying Christ and charity, and living and teaching it all at the same time. It just shows me that I want to apply what I’ve learned on my mission to the rest of my life. I have a loooooong journey to go as far as learning. But I’ll learn bit by bit what I need to do to truly converted.
As some of know, I gave a talk a couple weeks ago on conversion. Due to my left thumb being out of commission (I do this on my phone so I can’t tap with it lol), I’m not worrying about it this week, but a lot of it stemmed from information and resources from "conversion" under Gospel Topics in the Gospel Library. I want to invite you to 1. Download the free app if you don’t already have it and 2. Study the topic of conversion. It is an amazing thing to study as we draw further into this Christmas season, and I can promise you that it will bring a joy and peace to your Christmas you’ve never had before as you strive to implement it in your life.
That’s all for this week I believe. Want to keep it short for you all, and I don’t have too much to write anyway. (Or maybe I’m just being a little lazy with only having one finger to type with haha)
Love you all! Stay safe and Light the world with live this Christmas season! It’s a season of giving and if love, and it’s my favorite time of year!!!
